Week 6


In week six we had all of our gears drawn in Pro/Engineer. In the transmission we utilized 3 different gear sizes. There are a 25mm 15mm and 20mm. Also we made a analysis model of the gear to see how much force will be applied and the stresses each gear will undergo.

The Maximum amount of torque that can be applied according to document Stratasys ABSPlus says that the maximum Tensile strength is 36.0MPa.Sense the maximum stress that is being applied is much lower than the maximum. The maximum is 1.55E-2MPa

Here is a video of the analysis. It deforms more than the actual one to show where the stress is applied.
